Hygiene requirements on medical products in mobile operation

Email Print

Mobile contingents of sanitary service and civil protection assure the medical care in case of application. The preclinical emergency treatment at the site of desease, hurt or injury is on the one hand serving the rescue of life and the preservation of organ resp. its functioning, on the other hand it is serving the creation of transportability..

An extensive medical care is assured by mobile military hospitals performing operations. Efficiently working operation modules require effective central sterile supply centers which are quickly and gently cleaning and providing instruments at permanent high quality.

The requirements for the instruments’ preparation resp. sterile supply center (CSSD)* have considarably changed even within the mobile use. In the past, cleaning was done manually and afterwards sterilised with steam. Today, the focus is on a reproducible cleaning process which is also validable, together with unclean and clean working areas as well as intersectionfree lanes.

This requires, amongst others, mechanical washing processes with thermal desinfection and drying, before these instruments can be further on prepared in sterilisers being conform to standards. The process parameters being relevant for the sterile goods during the cleaning and sterilistion have to be recorded as well as archived.
